Hello and greetings to all from everyone in V.E.S. at Matsuricon. We are still planning on hosting Matsuricon and the V.E.S. room still scheduled for August. And as such we are happy to announce that we are now accepting entries to our Matsuricon 2020 V.E.S. AMV Contest. You may find all of our pertinent dates/times, contest rules, and contest registration form can be found at the end of this post. And we’ll continue to bump this page as we get closer to the registration deadline. Despite what is going on in our world right now, we’re still excited to see everyone’s great AMVs from the past year. And we look forward to sharing them with our Matsuricon family this up and coming year. And one friendly reminder, all source video material is still and will continue to be accepted to our contest. Please reach out to me at vescontest@matsuricon.org should you have any questions or concerns.

I have updated this message board thread to let everyone know that Matsuricon and the Matsuricon V.E.S. AMV contest have been canceled for the 2020 campaign. For more information on this decision, please see our website link below. With regards to the AMV contest in general, since there will not be a Matsuricon this year, there will not be an AMV contest for Matsuricon as well. This means there will not be any further accepted contest registrations, no contest or overflow showings, and we will not have any contest winners for this year.

Please rest assure that Matsuricon along with the entire V.E.S. staff, plan on returning for next year. And thus, we will be bringing the contest back for the 2021 campaign. To all the editors that have registered videos for this year, I’ll be personally reaching out to each of you to let you know about your registered video and how it’ll be handled going forward.

For any direct questions on the cancelation of the contest, please email me directly at vescontest@matsuricon.org. Thank you again to all the editors in the AMV community that have supported our contest in the past several years. Obviously, this was not something we wanted to announce, even if it was necessary. And we have every intention of renewing our humble contest for next year.
