I MADE THIS DRAWING, PLS LOVE ME SO! Wondering if there's some old school lovers around here? No? .....no? What is your favorite 70's, 80's, 90's anime series? Wanna talk about it? Awake that nerd inside you!
Oooh, yeah...I forgot I never watched Trigun I don't know why I always forget... I love Cowboy Bebop though. One of my DVD's is signed by Shinichiro Watanabe himself with a pencil I gave him xD
I just got this urgency of re-watching a lot of old stuff in 1080p. Yu Yu Hakusho was sick. So yeah, I think I will after I watch Patlabor (Anime I never watched either xD)
Dirty Pair Probably the precursor to shows like Noir, Panty and Stocking and other "Girls with Guns" shows, Dirty Pair is basically this: Kei and Yuri travel the universe causing mayhem while looking absolutely fabulous. I love this show. Project A-ko While FLCL and almost everything Trigger makes is lauded for being absolutely bonkers. Project A-ko was doing more or less the same shit way back in the 80's. I mean, it has a schoolgirl beating up giant robots for crying out loud: Royal Space Force: The Wings of HonnĂȘamise In my opinion, this is the greatest thing Gainax has ever done. Probably one of the few movies that can go toe to toe with Akira in terms of staggering animated detail. While Akira dabbles more in the fantastic, Royal Space Force cares more about the small, missable details in the world. That said, the story is kind of weak and unfortunately, the movie is more known for a controversial scene than its technical prowess.
I'd love to watch some more old school anime! If anyone has any suggestions for me i'll definitely watch them.
Yeah! It's the last piece of Old Gainax that I MUST watch! Completely forgot about this one! I heard/read very very good stuff about this! Must get it right now!
Shamefully i have to admit this is the only real 'old' anime ive ever seen. Princess Mononoke It is however one of the best films i have ever seen and recommend it to anyone. May be late 90's but its still old to me lmao
Gonna use this opportunity to plug Touch, which I'm about halfway through. Baseball/slice of life/romance series from the 1980s that no one seems to know about these days, but holy crap it's good. Even if sports anime aren't your thing (and they are 100% not my thing), this anime should be watched by everyone.
Is anybody here in 2019? My first love of the anime world was Pokemon, so I guess it has a special place in my heart.
