Question of the week: What is it + First theme. CHRISTMAS

Hi as I have nothing to do and feel like joining the community I will be trying to post a new question to the community every week. with a new theme every month
these will be questions related to AMV'S,editing,anime,music,japan etc.
the questions can differ from opinion based questions to wanting to hear your stories regarding a certain topic.

there could be times where I may have multiple questions in one post in that case please quote or copy the answer and place it in your post.

the format I will be using will be

As this is the first ever QOTW and this is the new site. I will be doing a DUAL THEMED MONTH
this month will be Christmas and AMVCentral


For the first theme of december as christmas is only a few weeks away.

The question is: How are you preparing for christmas?
what will you be doing this christmas?
share with us your favorite christmas dish (maybe even a recipe and a picture).
will you be visiting family and watching home alone for the 100th time.
tell us how do you plan on spending your christmas.
will you be joining the Secret Santa?

For the second theme of december, the question if very simple

The question is: What do you think of the ideas for AMVCentral?

do you think the idea for a new place for a community related to editing is great?
Or do you think we have enough places like that?
are there things you hope will be added to the site in the future?
how did you find AMVCentral?

Me and my sis have been spending the last few Holidays cooking food and eating like pigs.

do you think the idea for a new place for a community related to editing is great?
I think its needed honestly, at least here in America. I'm kind of jealous of AMVnews and places like that. It's going to take a lot of work and some luck (especially with youtube being so popular) but there is a lot of promise.

 

As a food lover and human who looks cooking I must request pictures of food. As inspiration for my own cookings this Christmas.

And
We should be using YouTube to out advantage. People upload their videos their and can discuss them here.
Perfect combo.

 

Always go for the extra dough.

What do you think of the ideas for AMVcentral?
I love the idea of a discord running parallel to the forums! It could really encourage people to socialise and get to know each other more than they already do, which can only be a good thing.

 

It's perfectly normal it was a bit of a random idea.

But Yea kinda like that, and responding to answers from others.

And answering my poll to know if I should keep going._.

And yea it's great! Having people communicate is the goal!

 

I'm not really doing anything to prepare for Christmas as my work schedule is currently all over the place due to a promotion to 1 of 2 positions at night that they still haven't decided what me and the other guy are going to be working yet... so were both kind of night supervisor/ shift lead right now and both of our schedules are all over the place and constantly changing plus I have a second job working retail. So I'm not even sure if I'm going to have a "Christmas" day or if I'm going to be working/sleeping during all of it... so there's that.

As for this site. I like the idea of using it to share videos and get feedback on it like I would try to do on the org, but wiuld only get a few responses. It doesn't need to host videos to do that so long as videos can be linked like they are now.

How are you preparing for Christmas?
I don't feel like it's Christmas at all. It feels like I just celebrated New Year and baaaam ;_; I'll get pizza and download movies (Home Alone included <'3) I guess and snuggle in warm bed ~_~
As for the rest I'll just work and edit some stuff ;-; I'd love to join SS though but I'm afraid I won't make it on time. Stuck with some AMV battles right now -cries-

What do you think of the ideas for AMVCentral?
I personally think it's amazing idea and thank you for the author(s)! I'm sure it's easier to not only follow important news, announce updates/contests/self-promote, but also get to know other editors. We are big community, right? Indeed, we have other 'big' forums but I don't know any other English ones, besides amv.org. And then, I haven't been there much because of its appearance (not fan of phpbb :S) Here it feels like more organized and cozy ^^ I'm sure this place becomes big and successful in no time. Of course, some features might be added up, like hot news on the front page, any important announcements and so on, it all depends how creators wants to run this place keep it as a forum or make something more.
